I got an award!! I got picked!!!

You know that feeling of when you're the last kid picked for the team?  Well, I've been kind of feeling like that in the blogging/business starting world, because my blog hadn't really started to pick up some steam like I had hoped it would.  But I guess my luck is changing!  I got picked for an award :D

Thanks to Jen from Krafting and Kreating with Jen I received The Liebster Blog Award.

The Liebster Blog award is given to bring newer blogs into the light. It's a great way to share blogs that might not otherwise have been noticed and should be! As a recipient you must share the love and pass it along to others, as well as these four things:

1. You must post on your blog and tell a little about the award and announce your 3-5 picks.
2. Let those know you have chosen them.
3. Copy and post the award on your blog for all to see.
4. Have fun and continue to inspire.

And now, I would like to introduce you to some of my faves:

** Michelle over at Crafty-Shell
** Lacey over at Zebra Palace
** Coley over at Coleys Craft Corner

All these lovely ladies will also be getting the Liebster Blog award :]  Be sure to check them out and become followers.  You don't wanna miss out on any of their awesomeness!

Link Up Love Party with K Andrew

So I've been following Getting Cricky with K Andrew for a while, and she has these Link Up Love Parties.  I kinda followed along with the last one that she did, but didn't exactly jump it, I wasn't really sure what it was all about.  But after I followed a bunch of people from the Link Up Love Party, I discovered how amazing it is!!  The Link Up Love Party with K Andrew is a way to get to know each other and find new blog inspiration.  And let me tell you, the inspiration you'll find is AWESOME!!

I had a hard time chosing which ONE has been my favorite project so far, but if I had to pick, this is one of them.  It was a special order for my mom to celebrate "the year they turned 50" with a bunch of her friends.

I hope you all find as much love and inspiration from this Link Up Party as I have!!  Thanks K Andrew!

Bachelorette Party Invites, and a new family member

OOOookkaaaay bloggers...  I finally get to bring you the bachelorette party invites that I have been talking about for forever.  These are the invties to go along with the banner that I previously posted.  Definitely excited to have this project crossed off my list.

I definitely would have gotten a lot more crafting and homework done this weekend...  but yesterday morning, the newest addition to our family arrived!  Precious little Pendleton...

She's probably about 6 weeks old.  She was dropped off by a stray momma kitty, and the owner of the house that Pendleton was left at couldn't keep her because of allergies.  But through the wonderful world of facebook and word of mouth, we found out about this precious little kitty and just had to have her.

Before we picked her up, she was an indoor and outdoor kitty.  So one of the first things that happened after we all got home, was bath time!!

She was so sad during the bath, but it just had to happen!!  Especially since I'm allergic to cats, bathing is going to be a regular habit for Pendleton.  Thankfully, we all survived bath time, and I, with only 1 minor scratch, which is already mostly healed.  For those of you with cats, you know that bath time can become a potentially fatal experience for the bath giver... lol

But then we got all dried off and it was play time again.

She slept amazingly last night, and the Hubster and I actually woke her up this morning.  Both of us were so concerned about how she did overnight.  And we had nothing to worry about.

Today, her first full day with us, she has been so fun.  She is such a spazz!!  She'll be sitting one moment, then sprinting around the room in the next moment.  She's been playin hard, but sleepin hard too.  She's so cute, she'll be playing then just pass out.  We are finding she is quite the cuddle bug.

This is a spontaneous nap sesh she's having in the Hubster's lap.  I love how she has her arms and legs all streched out!

I couldn't resist getting a close up of her.  She is just so adorable!!!  The only reason I've been able to type out this blog is because she's asleep again, in my lap.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get a little bit of homework done before she gets all playful again.  She's just so tiny that it's hard to keep track of where she's at when she's not sleeping!

Big 'ol Flower Birthday

Happy Thursday!!  We are almost to the weekend!! woop woop!

Here's a birthday card inspired by a post by Everyday Cricut.  I LOVED the way this scalloped flower look and I just had to try it out myself.  I made a little change with the inner part of the flower to make it my own.

The base of the flower is a scalloped circle cut from the Paper Lace cart at 3".  I cut 5 circles and fold 4 into quarters and used photo sticks to attach them to the 5th scallop.  I cut another 4 scallop circles at 2" for the inner part of the flower with the same process, folded into quarters and adhered with photo sticks.  Surprisingly, I didn't have any big pink buttons on hand, so I went with a shimmery clear/white button.

The sentiment was layered on plaid, magenta, and orange paper and adhered with pop dots on 3 corners. One corner was nestled in the flower folds and adhered with a photo stick.

The inside of the card has the same bright pink, orange, and yellow tiedye pattern that the flowers were made from. And the insert of the card is the same bright orange to match the front, with a magenta birthday sentiment stamped on the inside.

I hope you all have a fabulous rest of the day!

Mother's Day Part 3

I hope that you all got to enjoy some time with family and loved ones.  I got to spend the day surrounded by fam, first half of the day was with all the Hubster's fam with some super delicious food.  Came home and got to spend some QT with the Hubster and take a much needed nap.  Then my sisters and parents came over for dinner at my house for Mother's day (that way Mom didn't have to worry about cooking OR cleaning!!).  It was so fun to be in the kitchen with my sisters.  Steaks, corn, mashed taters, and sweet potato casserole were all delish!

It was so good to spend so much time with both sides of the families.  It was definitely refreshing to be surrounded by so much love.

So finally I bring you part three of the Mother's Day cards.  I really enjoyed this card.  I hope you like it too.

Now that Mother's Day has come and gone, it's on to Dad's and Grads!!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!!

Mother's Day Part 2

Hello Crafters!!

Just got done browsing some of the National Scrapbook Day posts, and it definitely looks like a blast!  I unfortunately have too many errands to run today, otherwise I would have definitely jumped right in.  But even though I've been running around like a mad man, I still wanted to bring you part 2 of my Mother's Day cards.

I love the background pattern on this paper, with the pink and green flowers, but it's hard to incorporate into cards because the pattern is so spread out.  I remembered I had the green background and mini pink flower paper from those spring inspired cards and I knew it would go well with this pattern.

I didn't want the inside to be too busy, so I kept it simple with some gems in the upper left corner.  Since I did a bunch of these cards, the gem colors vary between green, pink, and red.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend, and have a fabulous Mother's Day tomorrow!!

Keep on craftin :]

Mother's Day Part 1

So, as I'm sure you could imagine with all the recent baby talk...  I had A LOT of mommas to make cards for this year.  I was super excited to use this rose paper, because it's pink, and sparkly, and very pretty.

I really really love the way this card turned out.  It's elegant and pretty.  You can't really tell in the pictures, but the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment is rasied with pop dots to give it some dimension.

I definitely want to post some of the other cards I did, but I'm going to see little Amelia and her mommy tomorrow, so my next post might have to be postponed a bit.

Happy crafting!

Red, White, and Black Birthday

Good morning crafters!!!!

Today is my Friday, so I am super stoked to get today up an moving.  Ya know that birthday card I've been talking about??  Well it is finally time that I can bring it to you.

My sister is very classy old school vintage, and I'm talkin, fave music group is the Rat Pack, totally Frank Sinatra style.  Loves everything black, white, and red, and a big fan of the paisley theme.  So I knew I just had to come up with something for her super special 21st birthday.

I've been itchin to put my Cricut Design Studio to work, so I created this background with the one flower lookin designed and copied, and welded all the images together.  Let me tell ya, pulling this intricate design off a super sticky mat was tricky!!  I was so nervous I was going to rip it an have to start all over.

I also got a bunch of birthday stamps and if you know me and my sister, we LOVE dessert and baking.  So when I saw this cake and ice cream stamp, I knew it would be just perfect.

So stickin with a classy elegance, I went with a monogrammed "21" for the insert.  Used the Design Studio again to weld the numbers together into one image.  It was a little tricky to get the shadow to match excatly, but I am so stoked with how it turned out.

And of course, she loved it!!

I also got her a white picture frame that mostly matched the white pattern on the front of the card.  It was seriously perfect.

Hope you all have a good Cinco de Mayo!!
